- Model 1: adjusted only for sex and age. Model 2: adjusted further for body mass index (BMI), smoking status, drinking status, triglycerides, HDL-cholesterol, HbA1c, and glomerular filtration rate (GFR). Short stature was defined as the lowest tertile of height (< 160.8 cm for men and < 148.7 cm for women). Hypertension was defined as systolic blood pressure ≥ 140 mmHg and/or diastolic blood pressure ≥ 90 mmHg and/or taking anti-hypertensive medication
